Eligibility
All sales associate and broker candidates must have initiated the FBI Criminal Background report process before scheduling for an examination. For more information on the FBI report process, visit our Criminal Background Check page.
All sales associate and broker candidates must have completed all of the required education hours before making a test reservation. All broker candidates must meet additional educational hours, which includes a 48-hour broker management course, and documented work experience.
If you undergo testing before meeting eligibility standards, your test scores will be voided.

Examination Fee:
Cost is $100. Fee must be paid at the time of reservation by credit card for on-line or phone reservations.
Testing Sites:
Bowling Green, Lexington, Louisville, Maysville, Paducah, Somerset, Cincinnati, Cleveland, Columbus, Knoxville, Nashville.
School Code:
Have your school code ready to give to the PSI Customer Service Representative. Your pre-license school (college, university or proprietary school) has this code. It is also available in the PSI Candidate Information Bulletin.
No Testing Dates:
New Years Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas.
What to Bring on Day of Testing:
- You must provide 2 forms of identification. One must be a VALID form of government-issued identification (Driver's License, State ID, Passport) which bears your signature and has your photograph. The second ID must have your signature and preprinted legal name. Unacceptable forms of photo identification:
Employment ID cards, student ID cards, and any type of temporary identification. - Non-programmable calculators that are silent, battery-operated, do not have paper tape printing capabilities, and do not have a keyboard containing the alphabet.
What NOT to Bring on Day of Testing:
- Please be advised that children, cell phones, pagers, cameras, programmable electronic devices and recording devices of any kind are NOT allowed to enter PSI testing centers. Additionally, NO personal items are to enter the testing centers. PSI will not be responsible for any personal items, and suggests that you leave such items in another safe place, of your choosing.
All passing candidates will receive their license application at the PSI testing site.
