INACTIVE AND ACTIVE STATUS
Sales associates and brokers have the option of having an active or inactive license. While active licensees may engage in brokerage activities, an individual whose license is inactive (formerly known as "escrow") is prohibited from doing so. Licensees who wish to place their license in a referral company must maintain an active license.
Steps to Place a License in Inactive Status:
- Purchase an extended reporting period (ERP) policy through the licensee's preferred E&O provider
- Complete sections 1, 4, and 5 of KREC form 201 | Form 201
- Submit form 201 and proof of ERP with a check or money order for $10 to KREC
A licensee may also place a license in inactive status on their eServices account. To do so, the licensee needs to complete step 1 above and select "Place License in Inactive Status" on the eServices menu.
